Backpack Project
The Backpack Project is a companion project of Mary's Meals and aims to provide vital eduation supplies to children living in countries suffering from war, poverty, famine or natural disaster. This worthwhile project invites youngsters to fill up an old school bag/backpack with things like pencils, pens, crayons, eraser, ruler, notepad, sharpener etc.
Recently International Convenor,Gordon Matthew, approached headteacher, Carol Jackson, from Kersland School and invited pupils there to take part. Many pupils donated their 'old but in good condition' school bags filled with vital everyday school things. In April a van arrived at Kersland School to uplift all the bags and the children happily helped the driver to load up the van. Kersland School pupils donations will now be making their way to some of the poorest children in the world living in places like Malawi, Uganda, Liberia and Romania. Children living in these areas are now better equipped to receive an education. THANK YOU BOYS AND GIRLS FROM KERSLAND .
